Welcome to

The Secure Organization Building Educational Recovery, Inc. is a non-profit Christian Fellowship Organization for
those men serious about recovery from the grip of addiction.

Incorporated December 17, 2004 one man’s vision to share the gift of recovery with others began to become reality.
Eight years later, working on faith and public donations, this vision has become a reality.

Our program is based on complete abstinence from alcohol and drugs.

Through spirituality, honesty, education, and 12-step programs we believe recovery is possible. We believe
addiction is a disease that not only affects the abuser, but also affects the family and community.
Through this program we believe lives can be restored and families rebuilt.

Our goal is to provide a secure living environment and offer support to those in recovery,
and to educate their families and friends as well as the public on the disease of addiction
.

A LETTER FROM ANTHONY

Anthony has been a resident at SOBER for 11 months.
This is what he has to say:

I am 32 years old. This this past year my life has revolved around drugs. Every aspect of my life was in ruins due to my addiction. Until this past year, I was on the verge of yet another prison sentence. I found myself in front of a federal judge and more or less telling him: I wanted to go back to prison. As I look back at that now I feel that was my way out from my problems. My case was postponed for 90 days. didn't know what to do. Then the only thing I did know for sure is that I was fed up with my life and where it was leading me. Shortly before all this I lost someone in my life I loved very much. And after that I was on a down hill rollercoaster to my end.poned my case, I went to a 9-day detox program and on the 10th day I left every thing I knew behind me. I went to the SOBER house for rehabilitation. I have been here for almost a year and my life has dramatically changed. In that year my court charges were dropped. I was released from state probation and I'm learning to live clean again. Since I've been here I've learned about recovery. I now work a 12-step program, have a sponsor, and a home group. I've chaired meetings, done service work and I'm making the changes in my life to make my recovery work. Looking back, I thought addiction was forever going to rule my life and everyday actions, but I know with my open-mindedness and will to change, addiciton never has to rule my life with the help of a recovey program.
